Ibiza sunsets are undoubtedly one of the most magical experiences you can enjoy here. Watching the sky turn to fiery red and pink hues, even glistening golds, whilst relaxing in one of Ibiza’s array of postcard perfect spots, cocktail in hand is nothing short of heaven.
We’ve selected our favourite spots on the island to enjoy the beautiful daily show, alongside some delicious food.
S’Illa des Bosc
If you’ve not yet experienced the crystal shores of Cala Conta, you’re in for a very special treat. This white sandy beach offers fantastic views of the little islands dotted around Ibiza’s coastline with beautiful turquoise waters.
S’Illa des Bosc sits up on the right, away from the sand on the rocky coastline, perfectly situated for the stunning evening spectacle. The vast menu offers many Ibiza beachside classics with a twist. EC recommends the arroz negro, the very best on the island, cooked with peas and artichokes, just delicious. We spotted at least 7 other tables ordering the same on our last visit!
Here the service is attentive, and staff love to share with you their wine recommendations for each dish. Highly recommended for an authentic Ibizan experience.
Es Boldado
If you’re after a good meal with spectacular views, it doesn’t get much better than this. With 12 years’ experience, these guys know how to make you feel at home and impress you at the same time with their friendly service and relaxed atmosphere.
This one’s a little off the beaten track down a steep winding road to Cala D’Hort, so you’ll need to ensure you’re in good comfy shoes to walk down to the restaurant from the taxi or car. But, once you arrive, the views over the sea towards Es Vedrà with the sunset backdrop are simply exceptional.
The menu offers typical Ibicenco, Mediterranean and traditional Spanish dishes using locally sourced produce from some of the best suppliers on the island. There is a great selection of wines to choose from and you’ll be given a complimentary ‘Hierbas” (local liqueur) as a digestif before you make your way off into the night.
Los Enamorados
Typically the North of the island offers a more diverse, bohemian vibe, than that of the South, however, whilst Los Enamorados may be unapologetically eccentric, there’s definitely a hint of luxe too.
This unpretentious spot owned by former basktetball player Pierre Traversier and magazine editor Rozemarijn de Witte, offers a small but exceptionally tasty menu of dishes created with a focus on supporting local produce and fresh fish caught by the island’s fishermen. The chilled avocado gazpacho and poke bowl are must try dishes.
The restaurant is perched atop an old boatshed to the side of Portinatx beach, as North as the island gets, this charming spot is truly unique in comparison with anywhere else on the island. The location is simply beautiful, overlooking a small bay and islets, making it truly wonderful place to enjoy a relaxed, romantic sunset meal.
P.S. The cocktails are very good too!
Sillot D’es Rencli
Situated in a small cove just 50 metres long and 15 metres wide you’ll find Sillot D’es Rencli restaurant. This is hands down one of EC’s favourite places in Ibiza. Make sure your camera is to hand as you’ll definitely want to capture some of the breath-taking sea views with pink, purple and blue hue skies above.
The staff here are always super friendly, happy to explain the menu and suggest wines to compliment the traditional Spanish fish and meat dishes. Every dish is expertly cooked and full flavoured, which is why it’s an absolute gem. A must try.
Top tip: head there early for a pre-dinner paddle board in the crystal waters lapping the rocky bay to work up an appetite for dinner
Experimental Beach
A classic Ibiza sunset experience. Laid back luxe is the spirit at Experimental Beach. This barefoot bohemian hotspot is chicly styled with nautical and Mediterranean soft furnishings, in breezy shades, natural-wood furniture and coloured glassware that captures the light beautifully during golden hour.
Lounge here through the day on their luxurious sunbeds with bedside waiting service, enjoy their yummy cocktails and float through to sunset where you can indulge in a beautifully prepared meal and fine wines in this chilled out setting. The views are to die for.
Expect an ultra-chill setting to the sounds of textbook Balearic beats.
